my iphone 4 updated to ios7 but I no longer have access to the email address that comes up as the id. How do I switch to my new email

I can't log into my icloud when I updated my phone because I can't remember the password. The id is an old email account that I can't access so when it send the reset email I can't do anything. HELP PLEASE!

To change your password go to http://appleid.apple.com and click on 'Manage Your Apple ID'. Log in, and click 'Security & Password' in the list at left.
